Hello subscribers. Long time! My newest article Designing For The Last Earth is out. How do we as designers transition into a profession capable of actually helping save the last earth (this planet)? Because if we are not willing to or simply can't, we are in for a very bumpy ride.

The futures we are about to face are disruptive and not in the sense that we would like them to be. Anyone that tells you to not worry is either lying to you or to themselves or both. We have to worry, and we have to act.
Don't get me wrong, designers will absolutely NOT save the planet. Not alone. There is no solutioneering here. Designers can, though, help with their experience and know-how to plan and visualize better futures. Do we possess the tools now?
The answer is no. We absolutely do not. But we have to start from somewhere, we are actually kinda late already. Do I propose how to do that? I wish I could, no one can, we have to figure it out together. We will likely fail a lot at first.
This is a milestone for me because I feel it might not be something that everyone will connect with however it is something that I firmly believe in my core as a designer and as an ethical human.
I reference a lot of work in that article. What I hope for, is that it inspires at least 1 person. And then inspire some conversation. I hope that it will not be in vain. Please share!
